"The Brew that is True" at SCAA Coffee & Tea Show

The 23rd Annual Exposition of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) is cts-NChobeing held April 28 - May 1, 2011 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.

The Event is preceded by a Symposium on April 26-27, at the Hilton-Americas Hotel in Houston. 

The SCAA Exposition is one of the nation’s leading specialty coffee and tea industry trade shows, designed to be the coffee professionals‛ one stop shop for everything needed to succeed in the coffee industry.

Opening Ceremonies are the official beginning of the Event, which varies every year and can be industry speakers, video and entertainment from the Portrait Country, or all of the above and more.

This year‛s Portrait Country is Brazil, which is the largest coffee producing country in the world and the second largest coffee consuming country.

Other special events are:

  • Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Coffee Breakfast
  • Coffee Kids Reception – sponsored by InterAmerican Coffee, and partncts-IWCA_logoered with AUGE, a Veracruz, Mexico organization that deals in micro-credit projects. Included is a screening of a video about food security issues at origin.
  • IWCA BreakfastInternational Women‛s Coffee Alliance is a global peer network that advocates for disadvantaged women from seed to cup, and provides access to resources and networking. Proceeds from the breakfast will be used to support quality-of-life projects for women in coffee producing countries.
  • Coffee Quality Institute‛s 13th Annual Luncheon – a non-profit dedicated to improving coffee quality and the lives of people who produce it.
  • Grounds for Health Reception – to celebrate the impact of specialty coffee in bringing healthcare to women in coffee growing communities.
