Travel Essentials Previews Fashionable Footwear

With all the limitations that the FAA imposes on travelers, it’s hard to pack and look your best for your travel excursions.  For all the Imelda Marcos wannabes, of course we’d want to bring all our shoes.  But how can you bring all these shoes without requiring a personal Sherpa? Cambiami's (which cam3in Italian means “Change Me”) is the brilliant invention of is Diane Licht who was faced with the challenge of packing 10 pairs of sandals for a 12-day trip to Greece.  Cambiami is a line of sandals which allows you to create 24 different pairs of sandals with ONE sandal.  Completely removable and inter-changeable uppers and straps in various colors and patterns allow you to change up your look in three easy steps.  The comfortable base (available in black or tan) consists of a foam insole for added cushion and comfort, a flexible foot bed, and a rubber outsole for better traction.

Starting from $85, Cambiami's 'Build Your Cambi' option includes one sole and two upper sandal parts of your. The base on its own is available for $40.00 (from size 6-11), with uppers (in a myriad of colors, textures and prints) are available for $25.00 each.

Crocs Takes a Bite of NYC

The new Crocs flagship store, conveniently located in NYC’s Herald Square and right across from Macy’s (billed as the world’s largest department store), officially opened with Vanessa Lachey at the ribbon cutting ceremony, along with Crocs executives Dan Hart, (Chief Legal and Administrative Officer), Dale Bathum, (Chief Product Officer), Greg Sullivan (General Manager of the Americas Region) and Mario Caruso (34th Street Store Manager).

crocs-ribbonThe new stores boasts two floors packed with a selection of over 300 different pairs. The first floor features new styles for both men and women, and the second floor is just for the kids. In the center of the second floor is the giant “jibbitz” dispenser. Shoppers of all ages can rummage the bins of tiny animal-shape buttons—“Jibbitz” in Croc parlance—to customize the popular perforated models.

Crocs is known for their Crayola-colored sandals (made fro m a resin dubbed Croslite).   Orange Crocs have become celebrity chef Mario Batali’s signature footwear so much, that when the rumor came out that Crocs was going to discontinue its color orange, Batali said in an interview for Details’ January 2014 issue that he owns “Probably 30. I just ordered 200 more because they’re about to take orange out of the field. They made a special run for me before they retired the color.”. That’s scary. Well, Crocs is so much more than that.

crocs2The women’s selection has a slew of comfortable ballet flats, flip flops, jellies, rain boots, wedges, leather and winter boots.  All have the patented Croslite soles for comfort and traction.  Great picks are the stylish, leather-strap women’s platforms, which sport only a strip of Croslite on the sole for traction; and the Prima is a women’s flat made entirely of Croslite and thus offering more arch support. And finally, how about showing off your New York pride with Crocs emblazened with the signature “I Heart NY” logo, as well as NY specific sports teams like the Mets and Yankees?
